Friends of Cuscowilla and Cuscowilla Nature and Retreat Center are sponsoring the third annual Earth Day at Cuscowilla celebration, 9:00-12:00, April 20, 2024. Join the Friends of Cuscowilla and their partners for a morning of planting and fun activities for the entire family. Activities include birding walks, archery, historical reenactments, arts and crafts, catch and release fishing, disc golf, music, tours, climbing wall, and food trucks.

Our next road clean-up will be February 10, 2024, 8:30-11:00 am.
To volunteer, please complete the Adopt A Road Volunteer Registration Form. You will be contacted by us with additional information.

Join us for a day filled with education and fun as we view the eclipse and enjoy stargazing that night. Organizations from the University of Florida will be on hand with educational activities. Between the eclipse and stargazing, enjoy the many amenities of Cuscowilla Nature and Retreat Center. This event is free and open to the public.

Friends of Cuscowilla is excited to host several teacher training workshops in the newly renovated Nature Education Center at Cuscowilla Nature and Retreat Center. Teachers will be exploring pond and upland ecosystems using the Florida Project Wild/Aquatic Wild curriculum. Stipends and instructional materials will be provided to all participants. Registration is required and can be made by scanning the QR code below.

On March 4, 2023, Cuscowilla Nature and Retreat Center and Friends of Cuscowilla are hosting Growing Up WILD, an early childhood education program, for Alachua County Public School Teachers grades K-2. This program builds on children’s sense of wonder about nature, and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Through a wide range of activities and experiences, it provides a foundation for developing positive impressions about nature while also building lifelong social and cognitive skills. Workshop participants will receive a copy of the guide and a certification of completion.
